Older Campers
The 2025 Winter Retreat theme – From the Beginning – invited campers to wonder what it means for the Prince of Peace to be humbly born in a manger where livestock normally feed. Campers recognized that God meets them where they are and invites them to share good news throughout the world.
Right before Christmas, Winter Retreat is the perfect opportunity to get the kids out of the house for last-minute Christmas shopping or can be gifted as an early Christmas present to grandkids, nieces and nephews, and other younger family members or friends.
Summer Staff return to Gilmont to supervise campers and lead them in both certified activities and special, winter-themed games and crafts! Activities include archery, canoeing, cookie decorating, caroling, arts and crafts, and so much s’more.
Campers arrive at Gilmont between 7-8 pm on Friday, December 19th. They play games, begin bonding, and listen to a short keynote introducing the theme.
Saturday, December 20th is a full day of classic camp activities, winter games and crafts, and additional keynotes and small group Bible studies. Kid-friendly breakfast, lunch, and dinner is served. The day ends with a campfire and caroling.
Sunday, December 21st is similar to Saturday (full of fun activities, delicious meals, and opportunities to grow in faith and community) with campers leaving at 4 pm.
