Older Campers
A job at summer camp is unlike anything else you will ever experience. You’ll grow in friendship and in faith. You’ll make a positive impact on the lives of campers while also developing as an individual, a leader, a team player, a steward of creation, and a follower of God.
While there are rhythms and routines in camp life, each day presents unique situations and new challenges. You’ll work alongside a supportive and dynamic team to problem solve, process, and adapt. The skills you develop and experience you gain transfer to many different career paths – from social work to engineering to accounting to teaching!
Our employment dates for Summer 2026 are May 23rd-July 18th. Meals, housing, and a weekly salary are provided for the duration of your employment.
Staff are encouraged to schedule time off between June 4th and 20th. If you have additional conflicts during the employment period, let us know in your application or interview. We understand mission trips, family vacations, and self-care needs are important and will do our best to work with you and accommodate for your additional commitments.

Prior to starting the job, you are required to attend a 12-day paid training (May 23rd-June 3th, 2026) where we teach you how to facilitate Gilmont activities, lead Bible Studies following our curriculum, give and receive constructive feedback, manage behavior in developmentally appropriate ways, and more. All staff will be CPR/AED/First Aid certified during this period and also have the option to become Lifeguard certified.

Summer Camp Counselor
Summer Camp Counselors are responsible for the supervision, direction, and companionship of campers for the duration of their attendance with attention to the following: health, program outcomes, behavior management, group cohesiveness, happiness, cleanliness, safety, character and skill development.
They work effectively alongside other summer staff and the directors in both Day Camp and Overnight Camp programs to plan, organize, and implement recreation activities that are appropriate to the environment and participants’ ages and abilities.
Counselors must be 18 years of age or older.
Starting salary is $300 per week. Returning summer staff receive a $25 per week bonus. Benefits including lodging and meals for the duration of employment.

Support Staff
Support Staff are the backbone of summer camp and help ensure the camp day runs efficiently and effectively. Support staff complete assigned tasks in a timely manner. Tasks include, but are not limited to:
Support Staff also step into groups while counselors have breaks. They assist counselors with the supervision, direction, and companionship of campers for the duration of their attendance with attention to the following: health, program outcomes, behavior management, group cohesiveness, happiness, cleanliness, safety, character and skill development.
Support Staff must be 16 years of age or older.
Starting salary is $275 per week. Returning summer staff receive a $25 per week bonus. Benefits including lodging and meals for the duration of employment.

Media Support Staff
In addition to Support Staff responsibilities, Media Support Staff contribute to photography, videography, and marketing responsibilities including:
Media Support Staff must be 16 years of age or older.
Starting salary is $275 per week. Returning summer staff receive a $25 per week bonus. Benefits including lodging and meals for the duration of employment.

Overnight Camp Coordinator
The Overnight Camp Coordinator ensures that overnight camp operates smoothly and effectively. They are responsible for coordinating multiple schedules, implementing rainy day and/or excessive heat plans, and distributing camper mail.
This position supervises and supports Overnight Camp Counselors by facilitating weekly meetings, promptly addressing staff concerns, and providing encouragement, guidance, and constructive feedback.
This is an ideal position for someone with at least 2 years of summer camp experience, who possesses strong communication, organization, and time management skills, and excels as a leader among peers.
It is preferred that the Overnight Camp Coordinator is at least 20 years of age or older.
Starting salary is $375 per week. Returning summer staff receive a $25 per week bonus. Benefits including lodging and meals for the duration of employment.

Day Camp Coordinator
The Day Camp Coordinator ensures that Day Camp operates smoothly and effectively. They are responsible for coordinating multiple schedules, implementing rainy day and/or excessive heat plans, and facilitating Day Camp arrival and departure.
This position supervises and supports Day Camp Counselors by facilitating weekly meetings, promptly addressing staff concerns, and providing encouragement, guidance, and constructive feedback.
This is an ideal position for someone with at least 2 years of summer camp experience, who possesses strong communication, organization, and time management skills, and excels as a leader among peers.
It is preferred that the Day Camp Coordinator is at least 20 years of age or older.

Support Staff Coordinator
The Support Staff Coordinator ensures camp systems operate smoothly and effectively. They are responsible for coordinating Support Staff schedules, maintaining camp equipment and safety logs, and planning and implementing evening programs.
This position supervises and supports Support Staff by facilitating weekly meetings, promptly addressing staff concerns, and providing encouragement, guidance, and constructive feedback.
This is an ideal position for someone with at least 2 years of summer camp experience, who possesses strong communication, organization, and time management skills, and excels as a leader among peers.
It is preferred that the Support Staff Coordinator is at least 20 years of age or older.
