Some places have a way of becoming part of your story. For generations, Gilmont has been one of those places. A place where friendships are formed, faith is nurtured, families reconnect, and countless lives are shaped through time spent in creation and community.
Battle of the Bags is an opportunity to celebrate that shared story. Each year, alumni, campers, retreat guests, churches, neighbors, and friends gather for a day of laughter, friendly competition, and reconnecting with a place that has meant so much to so many. Whether you’re playing in the tournament, cheering from the sidelines, or simply spending the day with friends, every person who comes becomes part of the story.
Proceeds from Battle of the Bags support Gilmont’s greatest needs, making it possible to care for this sacred place, welcome more guests, offer life-changing programs, and continue creating spaces where people can grow closer to God, creation, others, and themselves.
This year’s celebration is especially significant as we dedicate the new Spradlin Lodge and Welcome Center, a milestone that reflects the generosity and vision of so many who believe in Gilmont’s future. As we celebrate all that God has done, we also look ahead with hope to the generations of stories still waiting to unfold.

Wow! The fourth annual Battle of the Bags Cornhole Tournament, held October 11, 2025 at Gilmont was another big success! We are grateful to all the friends of the camp who supported the event, enjoyed the day with us, and helped organize our biggest fundraiser of the year. Thanks to your engagement, we raised over $45,000 for Gilmont’s ministry and mission!
