Over the years, Gilmont’s leadership has hosted a variety of annual fundraisers with the intent of gathering friends and supporters of the camp for both fun and FUNds. Eager to find something fresh and outdoors following the pandemic, Battle of the Bags was born!
Battle of the Bags invites alumni, retreat participants, former campers, community members, and many other friends of the camp to gather, connect, and support one of their favorite places. All proceeds of this event go towards Gilmont’s unrestricted funds, which are particularly important amid a Capital Campaign.
So, what if you are not an expert at cornhole? Well, no worries! Most of us aren’t! You can sign up as a spectator, form a team with a friend (or we will pair you up with another friend of Gilmont), choose a fun team name, and try your luck!
The day is full of lots of laughter, camaraderie, and stories here at our beloved Gilmont! AND this year we are particularly excited to be celebrating Gilmont’s 85th Birthday! We look forward to seeing you in October!

Wow! The fourth annual Battle of the Bags Cornhole Tournament, held October 11, 2025 at Gilmont was another big success! We are grateful to all the friends of the camp who supported the event, enjoyed the day with us, and helped organize our biggest fundraiser of the year. Thanks to your engagement, we raised over $45,000 for Gilmont’s ministry and mission!
