Older Campers
Our hope is to create a temporary community where people can experience gentleness as a source of strength and leave with practices for embodying it in their daily lives.
Rather than gathering around a keynote speaker, we’ll journey together through worship, guided spiritual practices, meaningful conversations, time in creation, music, silence, and shared reflection. Each experience is designed to help us slow down, pay attention, and encounter God’s gentle presence in new ways.
Throughout the weekend, members of our retreat team will gently guide participants through a variety of spiritual practices, conversations, and experiences, including:
Throughout the weekend, we’ll explore five guiding questions:
Friday: Can I receive gentleness?
Slowing down, arriving, and becoming present to God, ourselves, and one another.
Saturday Morning: Can I recognize gentleness?
Encountering God through Scripture, creation, silence, and attentive presence.
Saturday Afternoon: Can I trust gentleness?
Discovering gentleness as courageous strength in a world that often values force.
Saturday Evening: Who taught me gentleness?
Remembering those whose lives have shaped us through kindness, grace, and steadfast love.
Sunday: Can I become gentleness for others?
Returning home with renewed hearts and practices for everyday life.
The retreat begins Friday, September 18, with registration at 4:00 p.m. and dinner at 6:00 p.m. We conclude Sunday, September 20, following worship, lunch, and a closing blessing.
