Worship in the Wild

About Worship in the Wild

Throughout the Christian tradition, people have entered the wilderness to hear the wisdom and love of our God. Worship in the Wild services at Camp Gilmont continue to invite people to deepen their faith while meeting God in the beloved community of creation.

Our services are intergenerational and invite people of all walks of life to participate. All are invited to participate. Worship in the Wild services recognize, affirm, and give thanks for the diversity of God's wonderful creation.

Each Worship in the Wild service looks different as the seasons change, the weather varies, and the Spirit moves and inspires. Some services include a reflective walk listening to the stories of trees in the piney woods. Some services hold space for stillness and silence where the whisper of God can be heard. Others invite movement, creative expression, and story-telling.

At Worship in the Wild, we sing, we pray, and we reflect. We walk among creation, listen to their stories, and let ourselves be grounded with all things alive and sacred.
