Gilmont Interns stay for two weeks and get a unique experience of summer camp. In addition to participating in classic camp activities, they also develop as leaders, mentors, and community participants. This is the perfect session for high schoolers who love Gilmont and want to discover the fun and responsibilities of becoming a camp leader.
During the first week, Interns assess their leadership skills and explore different leadership roles at camp. They develop tools for contributing to a safe and fun environment for campers and learn to lead some classic Gilmont activities.
During the second week, Interns join a group to plan and teach alongside program staff. They stay in the cabins with Wonder or Transform campers and serve as an assistant counselor. Interns help to guide, mentor, and lead them throughout the week. They display maturity, good judgment, and positive engagement at camp to ensure a fun and meaningful week for other campers and themselves. It’s a great way to give back to Gilmont Summer Camp and to learn what it takes to be a Gilmont leader. Below are some of the expectations and responsibilities for Interns.

Gilmont believes that every child deserves the experience and benefits of summer camp. We recognize that families have different abilities and resources to pay for a week of summer camp, which is why we are offering flexible pricing. Option A reflects the true cost of camp, Option C is the historically subsidized rate of camp, and Option B is the midpoint between the two. Click here to learn more about flexible pricing.
