The last few months have left us inside and worried about what summer would look like for summer camp at Camp Gilmont. We are excited to share that we are offering 2 weeks of summer camp in July. In light of procedures and restrictions from the ACA, CDC and the Texas Department of Health and Safety we will be making some changes to the schedule as well programs that we have offered in past summers. To learn more about the steps we are keeping to keep campers healthy check out our Health and Safety Plan.
Our modified Summer Camp schedule means that there will be changes from previous summer’s schedules and programs. To learn more about what to expect when you drop your child off for camp see our Summer Camp 2020 What to Expect page.
All camps will begin on Monday (Mini Camp will start on Wednesday) and end on Saturday. This will give us an extra day to air out cabins, as well as clean and sanitize cabins and all common areas around the camp. Another change will come to our Bible Study theme and curriculum. We have decided we would like our conversations and time together to be a time of reflection on the changes in our world and our daily lives over the last few months.
Our curriculum is being prepared by Pastors and Educators within Grace Presbytery. This year’s theme will be based on Isaiah 43:19:
“See I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.”
