Frequently Asked Questions

Does my family need to arrive by 3:00 PM?
No, your family can arrive at your convenience between 3:00-5:00 PM. If you expect that your family will arrive later than 5:00 PM, please call Gilmont's office at 903-797-6400.
What does Activities Open mean?
While you are at Camp Gilmont, your family will have access to many activities you can enjoy on your own and at your own convenience. These activities include mini golf, hiking, disc golf, prayer stations, and more.

Some Gilmont activities, however, require Gilmont staff to lead. These activities include canoes, pool time, archery, zip line, axe throwing, and crafts. During the Activities Open block, your family will have the option to enjoy the activities where Gilmont staff are stationed.
What is Morning Celebration
Morning Celebration is a time of dance, music, and praise to start the day. We do a few energizers - which are silly, high energy dances - and sing songs led by Gilmont's Worship Team. The scripture passage for that day will also be introduced.
What is Vespers?
Vespers is a quiet, contemplative time to wind down from the day and connect with God. It will contain story time, discussion, or spiritual practice and Gilmont's Worship Team will lead campers in music.
What is typically served at breakfast?
Our breakfast menu varies. Examples of some breakfast meals include breakfast sandwiches, breakfast tacos, bacon and pancakes. There are always protein options and fruit available.
What's typically served at lunch?
Our lunch menu varies. Examples of some lunch meals include chicken fingers and mashed potatoes, nachos, and chicken sandwiches and tater tots. Your family will also have access to our salad bar and fruit.
What's typically served at dinner?
Our menu varries. Examples of dinner meals include pizza, hamburgers or hotdogs with chips, and spaghetti with green beans. Your family will have access to our salad bar and fruit.
What is Snack Shack?
Snack Shack is our Camp Store. It is a great place to grab a bag of chips, some candy, a soda, gatorade, and Gilmont swag. Check out some of the merchandise available.
